BE GLAD YOUR NOSE IS ON YOUR FACE

Be glad your nose is on your face

Not pasted on some other place

For if it were where it is not

You might dislike your nose a lot

Imagine if your precious nose

Were sandwiched in between your toes

That clearly would not be a treat

For you’d be forced to smell your feet

Your nose would be a source of dread

Were it attached atop your head

It soon would drive you to despair

Forever tickled by your hair

Within your ear your nose would be

An absolute catastrophe

For when you were obliged to sneeze

Your brain would rattle from the breeze

Your nose instead through thick and thin

Remains between your eyes and chin

Not pasted on some other place

Be glad your nose is on your face

SIMPKIN

Here is Simpkin

Simpkin once and Simpkin twice

Simpkin nasty Simpkin nice

Simpkin fast and Simpkin slow

Simpkin high and Simpkin low

Simpkin round and round the chairs

Simpkin up and down the stairs

Simpkin thin and Simpkin fat

Simpkin this and Simpkin that

Simpkin weak and Simpkin strong

Simpkin short and Simpkin long

Simpkin smooth and Simpkin rough

And Simpkin THAT IS QUITE ENOUGH

Simpkin warm and Simpkin chilly

Simpkin sensible and silly

And sometimes when we stand and call

SIMPKIN JUST NOT THERE AT ALL

MANHATTAN LULLABY

Lulled by rumble babble beep

Let these little children sleep

Let these city girls and boys

Dream a music in the noise

Hear a tune their city plucks

Up from buses up from trucks

Up from engines wailing fire

Up ten stories high and higher

Up from hammers rivets drills

Up tall buildings over sills

Up where city children sleep

Lulled by rumble babble beep

Late last night

Late last night

I lay in bed

Driving buses

In my head
